Press Release

January 17, 2022

In 2017 Sheriff Larry Townsend created a drug task force consisting of the Wallace County Sheriff’s Office and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation. The purpose of this task force was to combat illegal drugs that were flowing into Wallace County. This task force was extremely successful and surpassed all expectations of Sheriff Townsend and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation. One of the individuals arrested by this task force was Ashley Hildebrand.

On July 11th 2018 Ashley Hildebrand was sentenced in Wallace County District Court to 108 months to Kansas Department of Corrections for the unlawful distribution of a controlled substance. That substance was 1gm-3.5 gm of Methamphetamine within 1000 ft of a school. However, she was put on probation with Kansas Community Corrections for a period of 36 months.

On June 23rd, 2021 Ashley Hildebrand’s probation officer let me know she had lost all contact with Ashley Hildebrand and had issued a power of arrest for her. I made contact with Sherman, Logan and Thomas counties asking them to arrest Ashley Hildebrand should they have contact with her. It was believed that Ashley Hildebrand had left Oakley Kansas with another wanted individual and they were in the Hays Kansas area. I contacted Ellis County Sheriff’s Office and relayed this information. Ellis County was able to appended the other wanted individual but Ashley Hildebrand was not with him.

In August I received information that Ashley Hildebrand may be in the Colorado Springs, Colorado area, and that she had possibly gotten married and was now going by the name of Ashley Green. I then contacted the U.S. Marshal for the state of Kansas, Marshal Ron Miller. Marshal Miller then put me in contact with Supervisory Deputy Viera with the U.S. Marshal’s service who is head of the Kansas Fugitive Apprehension Task Force. I relayed to him all of Ashley Hildebrand’s information and the U.S. Marshal’s began to search for her.

On November 4th, 2021 I received a phone call from U.S. Deputy Marshal Viera that Ashley Hildebrand had been taken into custody by U.S. Marshal’s in Colorado Springs, Colorado and had been placed in the El Paso County jail by them on our warrant out of Kansas.

On November 8th, 2021 I received a call from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office stating that Ashley Hildebrand had waived her right to extradition and had agreed to be returned to the state of Kansas.

On November 10th, 2021 Ashley Hildebrand was returned to Wallace County and placed in the Wallace County Jail.

On January 13th, 2022 Ashley Hildebrand was brought to the Wallace County District Court. Ashley Hildebrand appeared before Judge Scott Showalter. Judge Showalter revoked Ashley Hildebrand’s probation and ordered her to serve 96 months with the Kansas Department of Corrections for women facility in Topeka, Kansas.

On January 18th, 2022 Deputies of the Wallace County Sheriff’s Office transported Ashley Hildebrand to Topeka, Kansas and placed her with Kansas Department of Corrections to serve her time.
